Ah, Pecha Kucha and Food Trucks! But, what is Pecha Kucha, you ask??? Well, it's something that goes well with food trucks!

But, more than that, PechaKucha nights are put on by city organizers in over 700 cities worldwide (often with fine food trucks present to feed the hungry bellies of those attending!).

More specifically, PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together to share their ideas, work, thoughts, photos, snaps, creativity -- just about anything, really -- in a PechaKucha 20x20 format which is a simple presentation in which each participant displays 20 images, each one for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically, like a slide show. and the presenter speaks along with the images; discussing, explaining, telling, lecturing, boasting! (source)  It really is a good and engaging time. You really do have to see it and be part of it to feel and experience the fun and positive energy! Lots of people, and lots of upbeat atmosphere!

And, in December, 2013 there are 73 PechaKucha events scheduled around the world, (source) including one on December 18th in Providence, RI, where I will be presenting 20 images of 20 seconds each (20X20!) about a very specific group of food trucks.

And I'm not the only one; anyone can present on almost anything they do, love and/or are passionate about. Oh, and the proper pronunciation is [petca kutca] (source) (source)

Which brings us to Food Trucks!!

Why are food trucks and PechaKucha Nights a perfect match? PehcKucha events are typically held at a bar, public space or event space that often do not sell or offer food. And, since PechaKucha Nights are informal, festive, casual evenings, there is socializing, chatting and networking before, after and during breaks between the presentations. It's like a big party of sorts, with a theme. And, there's almost always a break in the evening to allow even more time for food and drink!  Simply put, food trucks are a great compliment to PechaKucha Nights. Fun, sharing information, and food!

I am excited about my PechaKucha presentation this coming Wednesday, and am looking forward to the other presentations as well.

And of course, I'm looking forward to eating at Paco's Tacos Mobile Mex! They'll be there throughout!
